A First in Austria: first 1.000 Xperia X1 at Orange

On Wednesday, 5 November Orange was the first provider in Austria to launch the sale of Xperia X1, Sony Ericssons answer to the iPhone. The new smart phone which has been waited for with much anticipation unites a high-quality touch screen, quad band, HSDPA, Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional, a music player with walkman quality and a 3.2 mega-pixel camera with an arc slider design. Orange will be the first provider to offer this business mobile in its shops for sale in Austria starting from 349,- Euro.

The Xperia X1 by Sony Ericsson presented at the 3G World Congress in Barcelona scores with Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional, QWERTZ keyboard and a 3-inch touch screen with an 800x480 pixel resolution. The arc slider with a premium metal body includes the Internet Explorer Mobile, Microsoft Outlook, Exchange ActiveSync® and a Windows Media Player. MP3 files may be received via A2DP wireless on Bluetooth headsets. Owing to quad band the premium mobile phone can also be used on business trips outside of Europe.

The X1 is operated via a three-inch touch screen, the QWERTZ keyboard, a 4-way directional pad and an optical joystick. The Xperia X1 is 11 x 5.3 x 1.67 cm and weighs 145 grams. The 400 MB storage can be expanded with a memory card. It supports WLAN, either HSDPA or HSUPA and GPRS. And a 3.2 mega-pixel camera and a MP3 player with walkman qualities also from part of the equipment.

The new Sony Ericsson business mobile phone will be available starting Wednesday, 5 November in Orange Shops from 349,- Euro.
