“ONE is not a new mobile network. ONE is the new standard in mobile communication. We do not only want to establish connections between telephones. We want to make our customers´ lives easier by offering them real communication solutions,” explains COO Lars P. Reichelt. ONE will offer the following services nation-wide from October 26:

Two basic packages: ONE Classic and ONE Business

ONE Classic is designed for all those that use their mobile phone mainly for private calls during their leisure time to their family and friends. ONE Classic includes a ONE Bundesland tariff and all basic services of ONE. ONE Business is intended for companies and heavy users. It includes a Bundesland tariff, a flat rate at all times, and an extended service package.

Walk-and-Talk fast activation including 15 minutes airtime

The first step into the future of mobile communication takes two minutes maximum: install the storage battery, switch on the handset, enter the PIN code. From this moment, the user has 15 minutes airtime for free, which he can use to call any Austrian fixed-line or mobile numbers. Shortly before the time is up, the customer is directly routed to the ONE Service Team, where activation will be effected. Duration: 10 minutes at the most. Reichelt: ”Besides the fact that this solution is attractive for customers, it also reduces bureaucracy and work load for dealers.”

No contractual commitment, money-back-guarantee

Compared to other network providers, ONE will not bind customers by fixed-term contracts. Moreover, ONE is the first provider to offer 14 days money-back-guarantee after purchase. If a customer is not satisfied, ONE will refund him the price paid for the box as well as the activation fee and the basic monthly fee.

460 outlets, ONE World shops in provincial capitals

From October 26, ONE products will be offered at more than 460 points of sales all over Austria. In addition to the already existing shops in Dornbirn and Innsbruck, five more ONE World shops will be opened in Vienna, Linz, Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Graz in October. In 1999 more locations will follow.

One for all: extremely simple telephone-number structure

ONE´s telephone-number structure is very simple: By changing only one digit in the number (the first digit after the ONE code), different lines are available for different services. For example, if somebody has the number 0699-1 123 4567, he can use the following lines:
Business: 0699 1 123 4567
Private: 0699 2 123 4567
Voice mail: 0699 3 123 4567
Fax: 0699 4 123 4567
Data: 0699 5 123 4567

ONE Bundesland: regional tariffs

ONE is the first Austrian mobile telephone operator offering special rates for calls made within one province. This means that all calls made within a province defined at activation will be charged at this special tariff. Studies have shown that a “typical” mobile user makes the majority of his calls within a certain region. The province of one´s choice need not be the province where one lives. A person living in Lower Austria but spending most of his time in Vienna can thus name Vienna as the province of his choice and use the Bundesland tariff for all calls made within Vienna. In order to make the choice as easy as possible, ONE offers only two tariff models.

ONE Classic: Basic service for the mobile communication of tomorrow

In order to make customers´ lives easier, ONE has tailored service packages which include not only a dual-band handset and a tariff plan, but also certain services.

For ONE Classic they are:

Telephone directory
In addition to the storage capacity of the SIM card with 125 storage positions, the ONE dual-band handset offers up to 150 extra storage positions. Depending on the type of ONE handset, the customer can thus store up to 275 names and numbers in a personal telephone directory.

ONE Box
The ONE Box is like an answering machine, but it can do much more: one can answer or forward messages, communicate with other ONE boxes, and even receive direct calls to the box (example: 0699-3 123 4567).

Calling Line Identification (CLIP/CLIR)
The display of the ONE handset shows the telephone number of the incoming call, so one always knows who is calling. At the same time the telephone number of the ONE handset appears on the display of the caller. This service can be switched off any time.

Call barring
Certain calls can be barred (e.g. calls abroad, calls when roaming).

Call management
ONE´s call management includes the functions “call waiting”, “call hold”, “call forwarding”, and “conference call”.

SMS (Short Message System) – text messages
Texts of up to 160 characters can be entered and sent via the buttons of the ONE handset.

ONE Roaming
Roaming is one of ONE´s strengths, because ONE dual-band handsets can use both mobile standards (GSM 900 and GSM 1800). As of September 21, 1998 ONE already had more than 65 roaming partners. Until launch on October 26, more roaming partners will still be added.

Itemized bill free of charge
ONE service bills will list all outgoing calls indicating date, time, and telephone number dialled – free of charge.

ONE Business: exclusive features included

Here, too, ONE is using the service-package concept. In addition to the services included in ONE Classic, ONE Business offers the following four standard services at no extra costs:

ONE Box Profi
ONE Box Profi enables the receipt and retrieval of fax messages and offers storage room for more messages and longer time periods. Also, with only one call, one can reach a group of persons via a distribution list.
Data and fax transmission
A ONE handset can be used to receive and send fax documents and data with a PC or laptop. Received or stored data can be further processed on the PC or fax machine.

2 in ONE
To be able to separate business calls from private calls, ONE handsets offer a second line with a separate telephone number. The two lines differ only in the first digit of the 8-digit number – 1 or 2. For users of the ONE Box Profi up to 5 services are available under one number.

ONE Plus
During the first 12 months, damaged or faulty ONE handsets will be replaced immediately and free of charge. Moreover, ONE offers a repair service for damaged handsets at fair prices. For stolen or lost ONE handsets, ONE offers replacement handsets at reduced prices.

ONE Services: Intelligent additional services

Apart from the included services, ONE offers the following additional services with both ONE Classic and ONE Business:

ONE Directory Service
All current Austrian and international telephone numbers (fixed-line and mobile networks).´

ONE Assistant
Personal service (no IVR) for restaurant reservations, flight reservations and bookings, etc. under one number. ONE Assistant will be available starting early December.

ONE Teleticket
Information about theatres, concerts, sports events, cinema programme, including ticket reservation. ONE Teleticket will be offered in co-operation with ORF.
