ONE NewsFlash: Information on Demand!
Starting February 22, ONE – in co-operation with APA and Der Standard – will offer customers up-to-date information on the subjects News, Leisure, Economy, Sports, Weather, and Events. The system is menu-driven and information is either called upon by specific request (pull service) or subscribed to (push service). The individual subject groups are divided in sub-themes, so that you can demand specific information on your desired subject. Up to 160 characters are possible per message.
Three Steps to NewsFlash on Demand:
1. Choose desired category by using special abbreviation (e.g. NEW for News, SPO for Sports)
2. Send SMS message with abbreviation(s) to the number 177
3. The information will appear on the display immediately after request
Subscriptions to NewsFlash can be ordered by SMS-sending the abbreviation ABO together with the respective subject abbreviations and the digit 1 to the number 177. To cancel a subscription, e.g. send “ABO NEW 0”. Depending on the service subscribed to, customers will receive one or several SMS messages per day. NewsFlash can also be ordered via Internet at http://www.one.at from the ONE NewsFlash Manager.
For the First Time in Austria: Menu-driven Pull Service
Customers who have Siemens S15E, Motorola cd920, Mitsubishi MT-D 30 or Nokia 6150 handsets, can retrieve NewsFlash via the special menu function “ONEServices”. The sub-menu NewsFlash will then show all information services. Says Reichelt, “The menu-driven pull service will be the first one to lead customers to the desired information in a fast and efficient manner.“
To receive the menu “ONEServices”, customers simply need to call the Service Team at 0699/70699. The additional menu will then be activated directly on the SIM card “over the air”.
Simple Tariffs also for NewsFlash
ONE NewsFlash customers will only pay for messages received. For Take ONE, the demand will cost 4 schillings. If NewsFlash is demanded from abroad, the customer will additionally have to pay for the costs the foreign network operator charges for sending the SMS.
