Take ONE roaming: Phone calls without frontiers with austria´s first GSM-1800 prepaid mobile phone

- Starting May 20, TAKE ONE customers will be able to make calls in 63 countries and over 100 networks

Starting May 20, users of TAKE ONE, Austria’s first GSM-1800 prepaid phone, will be reachable world-wide. TAKE ONE Roaming is available in 63 countries and co-operates with more than 100 partner networks world-wide. TAKE ONE Roaming makes it possible for prepaid users to make calls from abroad to Austria and also from one foreign country to another. Lars P. Reichelt, COO of ONE, says, “TAKE ONE customers can make use of roaming without monthly basic fee and without time limit. Thanks to our ONE dual-band handsets, TAKE ONE customers can moreover roam in a high number of networks abroad. TAKE ONE Roaming is very simple

TAKE ONE customers can order prepaid roaming by calling the service number 0699-72 699. For new customers, it is of course possible to activate TAKE ONE Roaming together with their activation of TAKE ONE. After a short credit check and return of the signed service contract, TAKE ONE customers will be informed of their activation for prepaid roaming via SMS a few days later.

Two kinds of roaming are available

When travelling abroad, one can choose between two modes of TAKE ONE Roaming via the menu on one’s ONE mobile phone:
- If one chooses automatic mode, the mobile phone selects the network with the strongest signal as soon as it is switched on. If the quality of the connection goes down, the handset will again search for the strongest network.
- When manual mode is chosen, the TAKE ONE customer can select the network of his choice, e.g. the network with the cheapest roaming rate.


TAKE ONE Roaming charges

For the activation of TAKE ONE Roaming, a one-time fee of 100.- schillings will be charged. The charges for incoming and outgoing local and long-distance calls when roaming with TAKE ONE also depend on the connection fees of the network used abroad.
For international calls made from Austria, different long-distance rates apply according to our international zones (zones 1 –5). These rates are also charged for incoming calls when roaming abroad, i.e. when a TAKE ONE customer receives a call from Austria while abroad (for tariff overview see appendix).
All calls made with TAKE ONE abroad will be charged in the same way as to post-paid customers. TAKE ONE customers making use of roaming will receive a service bill including an itemised bill free of charge.
All national and long-distance calls will continue to be debited to the customer’s TAKE ONE account.
