- ONE Cares – social commitment for people with particular needs
ONE is not only this year’s main sponsor of the ORF (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation) campaign „Licht ins Dunkel“, but within the framework of the social sponsoring programme „ONE Cares“ also supports distressed pregnant women. On the occasion of a photo exhibition ONE Managing Director Jørgen Bang-Jensen handed over a donation cheque on December 6th, 2000
“There are plenty of people who have other worries than their mobile phones“, says ONE Managing Director Jørgen Bang-Jensen about ONE’s social commitment.
For this reason the mobile telephony company supports, among others, also the association VERGISSMEINNICHT (Forget-me-not), which has been attending to distressed pregnant women since 1992. „ONE makes donations for mothers who have to manage their everyday lives despite financial and social problems“, says Bang-Jensen.
Opportunity to help directly
Currently the photo exhibition titled „andere UMSTÄNDE“ („EXPECTING“) featuring works by Pauline Thurn und Taxis is held in the auditorium of the Wiener Schottenstift. With black and white photographs of those concerned, the artistic social project wants to draw attention to the difficulties of expecting mothers. On the occasion of the vernissage on December 6th, Bang-Jensen presented the association VERGISSMEINNICHT with a cheque amounting to ATS 100,000,-. The amount is passed on to ten pregnant women. „ONE supports this project because it offers the opportunity to directly support expecting mothers“, says Bang-Jensen.
The photo exhibition can still be visited until December 16th, daily from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm in the Wiener Schottenstift on Freyung 6. Apart from the proceeds from auctioning a photo, the returns from a beneficiary concert to be held on December 15th will be exclusively used for the benefit of expecting mothers.
