ONE at the IF@BO: Additional services facilitate everyday life

At the IF@BO, ONE offers innovative solutions in the areas mobile Internet, m-commerce and telematics. Apart from the VPN Manager for the easy administration of company networks, ONE offers solutions that have been developed in co-operation with partners: the Photoplay-Terminal "which thinks along", a mobile inventory management system for Kelly`s, WAP-Ticketing for SkiData, a GPS and GPRS based Traffic Telematics System and the first SMS Coca Cola dispenser. Moreover, ONE products and services such as GPRS, ONE High Speed, the portal www.one.at or the ONE Business Centre will be presented.

This year`s ONE appearance shows numerous opportunities the mobile Internet company opens up to private citizens. ONE Chief Commercial Officer Christian Czech emphasises the mounting significance of cross-functional solutions: "We know that voice telephony will no longer be the main business of the future. Our customers increasingly demand simple, databased solutions for everyday life. A network operator`s success will depend on the kind of additional services it offers."

VPN Manager and ONE solutions

Apart from the VPN Manager to be launched in mid-September (see separate press release), various m-Commerce- and telematics solutions ONE has developed in co-operation with partners or realised for external companies will be at the heart of the IF@BO appearance.

- SkiData WAP-Ticketing

In co-operation with Skidata, ONE facilitates ordering ski lift passes via WAP-enabled mobile phones. Payment is made by credit card. At the If@bo the WAP-Ticketing, which was highly successful last winter, will be illustrated by a real SkiData "turning point" at the ONE booth.

- Traffic Telematics System

At the If@bo ONE will present the Traffic Telematics System developed in co-operation with Ericsson by means of a video demonstration. Use of highly modern GPS and GPRS technologies as well as integrated additional services assist freighters and shipment agencies in saving both time and money. Moreover, the system fulfils the technical prerequisites for electronic road pricing. If@bo visitors will see right there how the solution works.

- Coca Cola dispenser

ONE presents a Coca Cola dispenser that can be used via ONE and TAKE ONE mobile phones. Ten of these dispensers have been operating since May in a field experiment. The user orders the drink by SMS, the price of the drink is credited to the bill of the post-paid or pre-paid mobile phone. No additional costs will be incurred compared to inserting coins, which may still be used.

- Kelly`s Inventory Management

ONE has developed a mobile inventory management system for Kelly`s. Since spring Kelly`s field staff have been able to scan the barcodes of Kelly`s products on the shelves at the customers` - e.g. supermarkets. The data are transferred into the Kelly`s headquarters database at a speed of 14.4 KB/second. Headquarters automatically inform the logistics department how much stock needs to be delivered.

- Funworld Photo Play Terminal

At the If@bo, ONE exhibits a game machine of the company Funworld that may be linked to form a network with other machines to play championships. Moreover, an application will be developed by means of which game machine owners will be able to retrieve information on various topics via SMS such as for example: Is the machine out of order or does it have to be repaired? Is the coin container full and needs to be emptied? The basis is formed by a module of the ONE EasyData solution that exhibitors may integrate into their devices. This application saves time and avoids pointless tours to control the machines on site.

ONE products and services

Moreover, ONE presents proven products and services at the If@bo such as fast data transmission via ONE High Speed and GPRS as well as the corresponding mobile phones. Visitors may try HSCSD on notebooks, Compaq iPaq and the Nokia Communicator. GPRS is available on notebooks. The network is up to four times as fast and may be tested by means of the BlueKite Client Software. ONE provides on site insight into the www.one.at launched in June. Information on ONE Business Centres taking care of the technical and product-related questions of business customers wishing to buy a mobile phone in Austria. As a particular service, ONE Business Centre staff also visits companies should this be required.
