ONE SPONSORS THE "CLOWN DOCTORS DAY 2002"

• Donations in money and kind for clowns who bring joy and happiness to hospitals
• Comprehensive support with the sponsoring programme "ONE Cares"

This year ONE is once again the main sponsor of the "Clown Doctors Day" to be held on 21 September. In this function ONE supports the main stages in Vienna, Innsbruck and Graz and moreover, offers much fun and action for children in a separate tent located in Austria`s capital.

For the fifth time already, the "Clown Doctors Day" takes place this year - on Saturday, 21st September, the city centres of Vienna, Graz, Innsbruck and Villach will turn into giant stages for music, show, street theatre and much more from 1.00 to 6.00 pm. ONE supports this action day again this year, which helps finance the hospital programme of the clown doctors for big and small patients.

The Clown Doctors Day 2002

With circus for kids, reading tales, artistical shows, performances by stars such as Andy Lee Lang, Balaton Combo and Whatever the Clown Doctors Day will this year again attract thousands of visitors (for details of the programme see www.rotenasen.at). In Vienna, Graz and Innsbruck respectively, ONE finances the main stage, in Austria`s capital the communications company also offers games and fun for kids in a separate tent. In the ONE Fun Zone (Station 16, Graben 26) balls may be thrown, commemorative photos with clowns taken and many more attractions for small visitors are offered. Bigger kids may spend their time at Sony play stations.

Projects in preparation of Clown Doctors Day

ONE already collects donations prior to Clown Doctors Day:

On 18 September "clown noses" will be distributed at the ONE headquarter.

On 19 September five clowndoctor couples sponsored by ONE will be using public transport in the Vienna City Centre and raise awareness for "Clown Doctors Day".

On 20 September 1,500 pupils in Austria`s provincial capitals will be collecting for the clown doctors, distribute information as well as ONE candy. People interested in ONE will be able to get information at a booth at the Graben in Vienna.

Since the end of August foam rubber noses have been on sale at a total of 16 ONE Worlds in all of Austria (see list in the annex) for the benefit of the "clown doctors" - of course the minimum donation of €1.50 per nose benefits charity projects.

ONE Cares

To date ONE has been dedicated in supporting the clown doctors: in the course of "Clown Doctors Day 2001", but also with the donation campaign at the Vienna City Marathon and collection campaigns among employees. Apart from the clown doctors, ONE also promotes "Licht ins Dunkel", the "Make-A-Wish Foundation" and "Die Möwe" within the framework of its sponsoring programme ONE Cares. Supporting charity associations committed to helping both mentally and physically handicapped children is the primary goal of ONE Cares. The contribution of ONE comprises not only financial assistance, but also providing mobile phones without monthly fees as well as no payment for airtime fees. The financial means for ONE Cares consist of a separate sponsoring budget as well as collection campaigns among ONE staff and at events. ONE staff participate by volunteering at all events.
