I nternational billing award for Peter Pedersen

  • ONE employee is “Billing Executive of the Year”
  • First fully convergent billing system has been implemented

Peter Pedersen (48), Chief Information Officer (CIO) at ONE, was awarded the „Billing Magazine Globe Award 2002“. Born in Denmark, Pedersen received this award for the successful implementation of the first fully convergent billing system. The current solution at ONE is based on the Billing-Software Geneva by Convergys.

The British specialised medium „Billing Magazine“ of the global media group PBI Media awards the „Billing Executive of the Year“ prize every year. This year the jury consisting of three billing experts selected Peter Pedersen, CIO at ONE, who implemented the first fully convergent billing system (GSM voice telephony, GPRS, UMTS and the fixed line) by the end of the year 2001. The award was presented at the beginning of October in the course of the PBI Media Billing and CRM Conference 2002 in Amsterdam.

„The strategic requirements of billing solutions increase constantly“, says Pedersen. „Our customers expect simple, transparent and up-to-date bills, and they are entitled to do so. For this reason, the billing system has to be integrated into the company IT system and get it ready for future GPRS and UMTS services now.“ The ONE billing solution based on the software Geneva by Convergys has been used since the end of 2001 and already forms the basis of future m-commerce solutions.

Peter Pedersen has been with ONE from the very start in the year 1998 and has been responsible for the entire setup and continuous development of the IT infrastructure and applications. By now, the area IT at ONE comprises 148 permanent staff and a number of freelancers for the areas strategy, architecture, development, integration and operations. Prior to working for ONE, Pedersen was also IT Systems Director at TDC (Tele Danmark).
