ONE launches „BEST ONE GPRS“

No basic monthly fee, the tariff adjusts to user behaviour
Available in all of Austria, international GPRS roaming contracts cover all major economic and trading centres.

Effective 1 January 2003 ONE offers the mobile telephony standard GPRS in all of Austria at a fixed rate without basic monthly fee. ONE customers do not have to register for this tariff and every new customer`s mobile phone is activated automatically. Billing is based on the data volumes transferred, in the case of Best ONE GPRS the rule applies: „little is good – much is good“, as the 4-stage tariff scheme optimally adjusts to user behaviour. From data amounts of 20 MB per month, the customer only pays € 1 per MB and € 0.20 per 10 KB for WAP services. International roaming contracts with many major trading centres (e.g. Berlin and London) have been secured.

"With us customers pay based on the data volumes transferred and may both WAP and Internet. We have developed Best ONE GPRS as an agreeable and simple application for customers. The more data are sent in the course of a month, the more inexpensive the tariff gets for the customer. The unique Best ONE logics guarantees that the price adjusts to the customer`s needs. Thus with our 4-stage tariff scheme we can optimally serve all customers as no basic monthly fee falls due and the web costs are calculated based on the actual data volume sent”, explains CEO Jørgen Bang-Jensen the optimum grading of the ONE offer, and ”the costs for WAP always remain constant at € 0.20 per 10 KB.“

International GPRS roaming contracts

For more than one year ONE has been the first Austrian operator to offer GPRS roaming to its customers and meanwhile covers all major economic centres in Europe and Asia with GPRS. For this purpose, ONE uses a network with strong international partners thus guaranteeing both security and quality in GPRS communication. Consequently, ONE GPRS customers may make the best possible use of their handset or data card for mobile communication abroad.

Bang-Jensen: “Our clear objective consists in creating customer friendly GPRS applications and making them available for all customers. As soon as a ONE customer owns a GPRS-enabled mobile phone, he/she is in principle able to use this service at an optimum price-benefit relationship.“

* All fees are in €. Airtime fees and data service fees respectively apply to Austria per minute and per data unit respectively. Data transmissions(ONE GPRS) via WAP are billed in 5 KB intervals, via web in 102.4 KB intervals (equalling 0.1 MB).
