MMS exchange now also between ONE and tele.ring

Sending MMS has been possible between ONE and T-Mobile for several months already; as of 10 June 2003 ONE customers will also be able to send multimedia messaging services (MMS) to their tele.ring friends and vice verse.

Of course, sending MMS continues to be possible within the ONE network from handset to handset as well as from devices to any e-mail address as well as to either one or several recipient(s). At the MMS Point at www.one.at, ONE customers may manage pictures received really easily.

Effective immediately ONE post-paid and pre-paid customers may send MMS to the mobile phones of tele.ring customers and receive multimedia messages from them on their ONE devices. “We are delighted to now be able to offer a cross-network solution with tele.ring for the benefit of customers. With a constantly increasing selection of attractive MMS-enabled handsets and the new MMS Point at www.one.at, multimedia messaging services will become more and more popular“, comments Christian Czech, CCO of ONE, this important step for the success of MMS in Austria. Sending a MMS message always costs only 50 cent with ONE, no matter where it is sent, i.e. also when it is sent to the tele.ring network. Maximum size also amounts to a constant 50 KB, corresponding for instance to several photos of average size with either text or sound.

MMS possible both in Austria and abroad

MMS messages may either be sent to either one or several recipient(s) and received either via an MMS-enabled handset, by e-mail or at the ONE MMS Point. In analogy to the SMS fee, the customer is charged per message sent and per recipient. In order for pre-paid customers to be able to control their costs, TAKE ONE customers can send their MMS to a maximum of three recipients at the same time. Sending multimedia greetings from ONE to ONE or to tele.ring or T-Mobile via MMS handset from abroad and receipt is possible in case ONE has a GPRS roaming agreement with the network operator abroad. Currently ONE customers may send and receive MMS from/to 28 countries. New additions are Norway (Telenor), Russia (KB Implus) and Slovenia (Mobitel). The list of GPRS roaming partners is constantly extended.

ONE offers comprehensive multimedia platform with MMS Point

The comprehensive platform offers all ONE customers at www.one.at new MMS contents (pictures, animations etc.) and tools for managing and sending pictures and MMS messages also online. Special activities and contents animate visitors to become creative themselves and get in touch with other MMS aficionados. Competitions, nick pages and photo albums are to strengthen the sense of community. The MMS Point also offers access to recently arrived multimedia messages to ONE customers who do not have a MMS-enabled handset. As soon as a new MMS arrives at the ONE customer, a SMS informs him that a message is waiting for him at the MMS Point at www.one.at.
