ONE breaks Austrian record of length with advertisement in the Neuen Kronenzeitung

  • 50-page ONE advertisement on 28 July 2003 in the Austrian daily Neuen Kronenzeitung
  • The focus is placed on the new tariff scheme Active ONE with 3 cents/min

On Monday, 28 July the readers of the Austrian daily Neuen Kronenzeitung general edition will live to see an Austrian record of length: A fifty-page, forty-millimetre high strip advertisement. The focus of this advertisement marathon is placed on the new tariff scheme Active ONE enabling ONE customers to make particularly inexpensive, long calls. The innovative tariff scheme for talkative callers for a basic monthly fee of € 9,- offers an airtime fee of attractive 3 cents/minute after the second minute to all Austrian networks.

Behind this Austrian record there is a substantial planning effort as the layout of Austria’s mostly read Austrian daily newspaper is subjected to one-time substantial changes. The strip advertisement stretches from the bottom line of page four to include the sports section. In the editions for the individual provinces the Active ONE record comprises forty-four pages and in the Styrian edition forty-three.

”With this record-breaking advertising campaign for Active ONE, we want to emphasise how long customers may talk over the phone with our tariff innovation. With Active ONE talkative callers no longer have to consider when, for how long and where to they make calls. This tariff forms the optimum solution for all customers who like to make long calls because they call for 3 cents per minute after the second minute. We are delighted to make Active ONE the talk of the town in such an impressive manner with the assistance of the Neuen Kronenzeitung”, explains Christian Czech, CCO of ONE.

Active ONE in print, on billboards and on TV

Apart from this impressive print campaign, ONE also advertises the inexpensive tariff innovation until 28 August 2003 in magazines, on billboards and on TV. In case of these media, everything is also focused on customer benefit, i.e. that very long calls are particularly inexpensive with Active ONE. On TV the Active ONE campaign consists of a spot series lasting once for 15, twice for 5 and once for 20 seconds. On 18, 19 and 20 July particularly long versions were shown on ORF Primetime, which got particular attention by six intermediate spots of 5 seconds each.

Be it on the four page strip advertisement in magazines or on billboards, in the Active ONE campaign, the focus always is on the message that making long calls with Active ONE pays off. The impressive 72/ 1 frame billboards may be admired in all of Austria starting from 1. August. From 18 July to 27 September 2003 all talkative callers may register for Active ONE.
