Office of the Government of the Province of Burgenland becomes e-government trendsetter with ONE Mobile Office Access

• Via GPRS mobile access to important data from outside the office and during office hours
• Customised solution enables first e-government solution in Austria

Since mid-September ONE Mobile Office Access has been facilitating the work of 20 leading politicians and civil servants of the government of the province of Burgenland. The focus of this tailor-made solution, which ONE has developed in cooperation with the IT-Integrator Intelli-Solution and the IT department of the provincial government, is placed on secure mobile access to all data such as Internet, Intranet, e-mails, data bases and files. The cooperation partners have developed a VPN solution corresponding to the security needs and in line with the customer’s infrastructure, which enables flexible working models as well as being closer to citizens with the assistance of laptops and mobile phones.

The government of the province of Burgenland has been developing towards a customer-oriented service company for years. New processes, new software and the electronic file require that the leading politicians of the province continuously adapt their technical competency. Technical innovations assist in fulfilling tasks more efficiently irrespective of time and place for the sake of being closer to citizens. Provincial governor Niessl: “It is of particular importance that we as the provincial government keep up with the current developments in the field of information technology. Only people who are up-to-date concerning IT can react promptly at all level in line with modern requirements. No matter whether in Austria or abroad, the GPRS VPN installation facilitates access to the Internet, e-mails and data bases any place. Data can be processed and transferred immediately. Consequently a faster and more direct flow of information is guaranteed for politicians and civil servants alike, which eventually results in an advantage for citizens as customer-oriented service.“

The mobile company network

ONE Mobile Office Access enables secure access to all company data and applications within the company network from outside the office around the clock to the government of the province of Burgenland, i.e. via laptop and GPRS-enabled handset or card phone.
