With four ALL IN ONE tariffs, ONE launches the generation of individual and simple pricing plans
Make calls from ONE to ONE for 1 cent, up to 200 free airtime minutes to all networks
Calls to all networks from 5 cents
At a time when consumers are literally flooded by the complex price messages of telecommunications providers, ONE launches a tariff scheme which fulfils all the wishes of consumers at once: the four new ALL IN ONE tariffs. Effective 7 May 2004 a module-based combination system made up of four tariff schemes and four additional packages may be flexibly tailored to customer wishes for inexpensive voice calls, free airtime minutes and data packages.
“We have advantages currently important to customers included in the new ALL IN ONE tariffs. Decisive for ONE was to develop a flexible and inexpensive offer which can be customised to customer wishes – and all this with the well-known high quality ONE service range“, explains Christian Czech the company stance underlying this tariff development.
ALL IN ONE customers make calls at 1 cent within the own network in all pricing plans, check their voicemail box for free; all of them have free airtime minutes and may place calls to all other Austrian mobile networks within the respective tariff scheme at a constant rate. For frequent callers as well as data users, ONE has included packages in the offer which may be individually combined. Thus for an additional € 5,- per month respectively calls may be placed to a network of your choice at a rate of 5 cents, or you can send SMS from ONE to ONE for 1 cent per SMS or transfer 5 MB of GPRS data. Even if customers want to have all advantages at once following the motto “Take all“ the ALL IN ONE tariff packages are simply inexpensive.

Quality at ONE
ONE customers have been able to make noise-free calls at clear and easy tariff schemes from the very start any time, any place. With ONE Cockpit ONE customers have the most comprehensive self-service system of all Austrian mobile telephony operators and can thus easily enter as well as change user settings on the Internet. With ONE Cost Control, ONE customers can find out any time the current status of their phone bill either by phone, SMS or via handset menu. Thus ONE responds to consumer’s wishes for more transparency and information. And only ONE customers take advantage of the comprehensive choices of the ONE Box Profi and check their voicemail boxes from all existing tariff schemes for only € 0,- without additional extra charge.
Christian Czech, CCO of ONE, describes the idea of quality at ONE “ONE is able to guarantee a high degree of network stability as well as a population coverage of 98 %. Moreover, at ONE particular emphasis has been placed on usability and easy handling from the very start. ONE makes its customer life simply easier“. With the unique ONE Smile interface, al data services such as SMS and WAP services, e-mail via handset and phone settings are child’s play to find.
In addition, ONE customers may benefit from special offers that ONE has developed in cooperation with a number of cooperation partners. And – as one example of the comprehensive offer of data services available via ONE - ONE customers have not only been able to select among more than 200 mp3 ring tones, 250 polyphonic and 600 mono phonic ring tones since the end of March, but they can also buy concert tickets for their favourite bands via mobile phone.
Farewell to the old consumers’ world
In his presentation on the occasion of the introduction of the new ALL IN ONE tariff package on 6 May 2004 within the framework of ONE Smart Space futurologist Dr. Karlheinz Steinmueller highlighted the essence of a consumers’ world in transition across all industries. Formerly it was characterised by non-saturated markets, clear status strata, mass consumption and brand loyalty. Now markets – also young markets such as mobile telephony – are saturated. Individualism and emotion reign supreme, consumer behaviour is paradox, consumers take sovereign decisions or refuse. Torn between extreme sensitivity to price following the motto “Greed is hot“ and sense of quality and luxurious demands in the sense of “That’s the only pleasure one affords anyway“ markets are fragmented – smaller and smaller target groups want to be served. Opportunities open up in particular for companies which succeed in providing high quality standards at inexpensive prices. High quality standards are personal and good service, transparency and consumer protection. Excessive complexity is replaced by demanding simplicity.
Buying cheap as mass phenomenon – what happens to quality?
In his presentation the Viennese professor of philosophy Alfred Pfabigan deals with the phenomenon of buying cheap and the basics of the development of a new business mentality. “Cheap buyers“ have always existed, however currently our business world is confronted with the fact that buying cheap has turned into a mass phenomenon and has also reached the middle class high in purchasing power. Business mentality of consumers has changed, many consider “getting a good deal” a lustful act, for some consumers special offers have become a way of life; they are better informed about prices than ever before. Alfred Pfabigan outlines contradictions and possible dangers of buying cheap and asks the question for convincing communication and quality in order to match the existing consumer mentality with a real benefit. The trend towards simplicity is highlighted as a new form of consumption.
