Since 18 December the new ONE commercial has been on Austrian TV screens. The clear message behind it: At ONE “text messages are for free“, i.e. they may be sent for free to all Austrian mobile telephony networks. And this commercial is the best example of know-how transfer: The commercial was produced by the Danish telecommunications company and ONE shareholder TDC and was adapted in Austria.
Advertising insiders are right on if they feel they have seen the ONE commercial “text messages for free”, which has been on TV screens since yesterday, before. It has been created by the Scandinavian advertising agency “& Co“and is better known in Denmark as the TV commercial of the telecommunications company TDC, one of the four ONE shareholders.
“We have made a field test and used the first ad sharing in the ONE company history. After all we have shared experience with our shareholders in many areas before", says Konrad Mayr Pernek, Head of Marcom at ONE. “The new campaign was created together with our new agency Jung von Matt/Donau. The TV commercial was produced in co-production with tdcmobil.”
Which mobile phone is the fastest?
The story of this commercial is funny and unique at the same time: Two youngsters are testing how fast their mobile phones are. Of course in this case data speed is not the issue. No, they are trying to find out which mobile phone moves faster. They are both sitting on their sofas and and constantly sending text messages to their respective “racing handsets“which are moving forward via vibrations. The winner is the mobile phone which has first reached the goal.
