Orange Movie Thursday: Two tickets for the price of one

- New service for all Orange post-paid customers
- Valid every Thursday, for every movie in 29 Cineplexx cinemas all over Austria
- Simply redeem SMS ticket at the cinema cashier desk

“Together we can do more“ has been the Orange message since its launch in Austria almost one year ago. The focus has been placed on personal relationships and the "power of the community“. As of 27th of August Orange in cooperation with the cinema group Cineplexx operating in all of Austria will offer a new service offering customers even more entertainment in their free time and consequently more quality time with their friends and loved ones: the Orange Movie Thursday.

As of 27th of August 2009 all Orange post-paid customers will get two movie tickets for the price of one in all Cineplexx and Constantin cinemas all over Austria. This service applies every Thursday to every movie.

The Constantin Movie Group operates 29 cinemas with 194 screens and 35,672 seats in all of Austria. Among them 20 Multiplex cinemas, numerous theme cinemas and English Cinemas. In 2008 about 7 million Austrians visited a show at either a Cineplexx or Constantin Film cinema.

This is how easy customers get two tickets for the price of one
Orange post-paid mobile customers simply send a free text message with the text „KINO“ (cinema) to the phone number 2121. They will receive a text message asking them whether they want to receive a code for the Orange Movie Thursday. By sending „JA“ (YES) they will receive a code by text message (0.75 cents per code) in return, which they can redeem at the cash desk of any Cineplexx or Constantin Film cinema in Austria. Every Orange mobile post-paid customer can redeem one code per week.

Since the text message does not guarantee a seat, Orange recommends its customers to call the cinema and reserve seats (no online reservation). Codes which are not redeemed at the cash desk are forfeited. The customer pays for the ticket directly at the cash desk.

Orange Wednesdays at Orange UK
In March 2004 Orange launched Orange Wednesdays in Great Britain thus enabling Orange customers to get two movie tickets for the price of one. The campaign is a huge success: 90 percent of British cinemas increased the number of visitors on Orange Wednesdays by approximately 50% owing to this campaign.
Since spring 2009 Orange subsidiaries in Poland and Romania have also been offering Orange Wednesdays. Consequently Orange in Austria is the fourth Orange company in Europe to successfully launch this campaign – however on Thursdays. On this day of the week previews often take place in Austrian cinemas.
