Orange and Mjam make take-away food mobile

- Mobile take-away food order from the cell phone including mPayment powered by Orange
- Restaurant coverage in all bigger Austrian cities
- iPhone application iHunger available for free in the AppStore
- Ideal for offices: group orders with individual subtotals

The mobile phone now also brings your take-away food to your home. Mjam GmbH, a young Vienna-based idea workshop with the support of Orange has developed an innovative take-away food order service: iHunger. The service is available by means of your mobile as free iPhone app called iHunger or via the web. It locates restaurants and delivery services in the customer’s neighbourhood. Via iPhone app iHunger or web at www.mjam.net customers may sort the results according to address, delivery time, opening hours, quality criteria and regulars. Be it Asia, Sushi, Indian, Italian, Russian or Vietnamese restaurants, be it Japanese or Croatian cuisine, with iHunger customers instantly see the menus and may order well-packaged specialities for their lunch breaks at the office or in the evening at home.
“Orange pursues the objective of making mobile life easier. iHunger is an innovative additional value for our customers“, says Orange CMO Peter Nebenführ.

iHunger: from the start available in 11 Austrian cities already
“Voting on the best pizza, the best Beijing Duck and the best Cordon Bleu does not take place by awarding starts, but via the customers’ order behaviour according to which customer satisfaction is determined," explains Angelo Laub, founder of Mjam, the system. "Our QualityRank algorithm offers the first objective assessment system for restaurants which cannot be manipulated".
The cooperation with Orange enables customers to pay for the food ordered of restaurants linked with mPayment to pay via their mobile phone straight away. Once the delivery guy rings for the second time, everything has been paid for already. The number of mPayment connections is constantly extended.
iHunger powered by Orange is currently available not only in Vienna, but also in the following Austrian cities: Bregenz, Eisenstadt, Graz, Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Linz, Salzburg, St. Pölten, Villach and Wiener Neustadt. iHunger is available in App Store at iTunes as free App for download for iPhones.

Mjam: new idea from the heart of Vienna
The Mjam GmbH was founded in the Metalab, an idea workshop in the heart of Vienna. The creative environment of the Metalab meanwhile serves 100 specialists as interface between technology, culture and the economy. The focus of the usually interdisciplinary project developed is placed on the practical benefit for the user. Apart from Mjam, newly developed 3D printers, robots and interactive art installations the project achieved international success with the project soup.io in London in summer 09 with the first prize in a start-up competition. The concept of Metalab serves as a model for numerous international copycats. The website hackerspaces.org developed by the Metalab initiators for the purpose of documentation and international experience sharing is already being used by sister associations in more than 30 countries.
